Update on the Bitgood’s

Josh didn’t have a much fun playing football as Mike & I would’ve liked; but non-the less he completed the season and is undecided about next year. He made straight “A’s” on his first report card, not so good on his 2nd; but academically he’s doing well, if he applies himself – that apple didn’t fall far from the tree… We’re in the middle of basketball season Dad & Brian Bruce “BB” (his former baseball coach) are coaching this year, as of today the team is 6-0 with 4 more games to go. The biggest news to date: he’s now on the Charlotte Hurricanes 9U baseball team (www.charlottehurricanes.com). While this is good news unfortunately he and Mike will not be able to attend the family reunion in July, 4th of July weekend is the biggest tournament of the season.

Ally has decided to join the show team at the stables where she takes her horseback riding lessons --- she’s real excited to be doing more. She currently helps out at a lot of the birthday parties held at the stables, which includes set-up, break-down, caring for the horses and other animals in the petting zoo (there’s a llama, goat, pot belly pig, miniature horse, sheep, chickens). All of this in exchange for 1 free-ride on a horse. She’s been helping out for the last several months, the stables is her home away from home. I couldn’t ask for a better environment for her. She’s doing well in school, rough beginning but she’s coming around (6th grade is a huge adjustment). She’s also playing the trombone --- not what you’d expect is it, she’s doing well with that as well, she’ll have to show off her talents at the reunion.

Mike --- same old same old working, coaching, sleeping, working, coaching, sleeping, throw some travel in the for work and that about sums it up.

Me – the stability of my company is very fragile right now – all I can do is take it one day at a time, which I am. If something does happen, I do have plan in place; I’m on the fence whether or not I want something to happen or not, but non the less, it is what it is and until the decision is made – I go to work every day doing the best job that I can. I signed up do crew again in the Charlotte Avon Walk 2009, I’m on the Gear & Tent Team (we help the walkers get their luggage, set-up their tents A LOT of work but so much fun. Actually the team co-leaders have been co-leading this team for at least 5 years. Ally & I are excited to go see Jamie in DC at the end of the month, Ally’s is more excited than I thought she’d be.

Please do not give me any grief about Mike & Josh not coming to the reunion, we knew that it was very likely that they wouldn’t be able to go. WE made the decision, there is no good time during the summer to plan any activities outside of the commitments we make locally.
